For those who use WebTV
WebTV users only can use Starchat's WebTV connection page at http://www.starchat.net/services/webserv.htm
Web Browser Chat
For those who want to use a web browser to connect to IRC, a java program provides that functionality. In the future, this site will probably have a web based chat page, but for now there are two sites that provide this. Starchat provides one and the previous #anx/pan founder has one on his site. The latter could disappear at anytime.
Both are based on the same engine and operation is approximately the same. A window will appear asking you to accept a certificate from Jpilot. This is safe (I accept it when testing the java clients).
You will fill in a nick (your identifier) in the nickname box, make sure the channel is "anx/pan". The server is usually left at irc.starchat.net . This will find an available server for you. In the rare case that irc.starchat.net isn't working, choose another server. It does take a moment to connect to an IRC server. If it can't connect, you'll see a message on the screen.
On the Starchat based site, there is a place to view channels. Please note that #anx/pan is not on this list to prevent "channel surfers" from disrupting #anx/pan. You will need to type in "anx/pan".
